Criminal Law - Aggravated Animal Cruelty Associated with Domestic Violence

Synopsis:

Establishing the crime of aggravated animal cruelty associated with domestic violence, which is the intentional mutilation, torture, cruel beating, or cruel death or authorizing any of those acts to an animal owned by a person who is eligible to seek relief from domestic violence or in the presence of a person who is eligible to seek relief from domestic violence; establishing penalties; and altering the definition of abuse in a domestic situation to include a violation of the Act.
