Handguns - Wearing, Carrying, or Transporting in Commission of a Felony or Crime of Violence

Synopsis:

Making it a separate misdemeanor to wear, carry, or transport a handgun or antique firearm capable of being concealed on the person in the commission of a felony or crime of violence; making a mandatory minimum penalty of 5 years' imprisonment and a maximum penalty of 20 years' imprisonment applicable to the offense; specifying that, subject to a specified exception, a person who is convicted of an offense under the Act is ineligible for parole in less than 5 years; etc.
