Driver Education - Standardized Classroom Phase Curriculum and Increased Hours of Laboratory Instruction

Synopsis:

Increasing from 6 to 8 the number of hours of laboratory instruction in a driver education course that an individual under 18 years of age must complete before qualifying for a driver's license; requiring the classroom phase curriculum to be standardized and based on the "Novice Driver Education Model Curriculum Outline" prepared for the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety or on a similar program selected by the administration; and requiring specified curriculum standards.
