Tobacco Tax - Tobacco Tax Health Protection Fund

Synopsis:

Imposing the tobacco tax on tobacco products other than cigarettes at a rate of 20% of the wholesale price of the other tobacco products; increasing the tax rate for cigarettes from 36 cents to 51 cents per pack; providing for additional rate increases over a 5-year period up to $1.86 per pack, subject to specified contingencies; providing for the distribution of tobacco tax revenue for a tobacco crop conversion program, the Tobacco Tax Health Protection Fund, and school construction; etc.
