Education - Public Charter Schools

Synopsis:

Authorizing the county boards of education to be the public chartering authorities for public charter schools in the State; establishing the rights and duties of the county boards as public chartering authorities; establishing an application process for public charter schools; permitting existing public schools to convert to public charter schools under specified conditions; and requiring the Board of Education to report to the General Assembly on the progress of public charter schools.
