Patient Prescription Access - Limited Physician Delegation to Physician Assistants

Synopsis:

Repealing specified provisions that require a physician assistant to obtain an approved job description from the Board of Physician Quality Assurance in order to perform specified delegated medical acts; substituting provisions that authorize a physician to delegate specified medical acts to a physician assistant under a delegation agreement that has been approved by the Board; authorizing a physician to delegate authority to an assistant to write medication orders under an approved delegation agreement; etc.
