Dear Mr. President:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed Senate Bill 70 - Motor Vehicle Administration - Issuance of Identification Card.

This bill authorizes the Motor Vehicle Administration (MVA) to issue identification cards to those individuals who have had their driver's licenses confiscated and have been issued temporary licenses because of certain driving offenses.

House Bill 929, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me today, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign Senate Bill 70.
