Dear Mr. President:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed Senate Bill 364 - Tobacco Authority - Sunset Extension and Program Evaluation.

This bill extends the sunset date for the Tobacco Authority. In addition the bill requires the Tobacco Authority to issue an annual report to the General Assembly on the status of tobacco growing in the State.

House Bill 353, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me today, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign Senate Bill 364.
