Health Insurance - Acquisition of Nonprofit Health Entity

Synopsis:

Altering the criteria for a determination by the Insurance Commissioner of whether to approve a specified acquisition; requiring the Maryland Health Care Foundation to perform a study under specified circumstances; specifying the purposes of the study; requiring the Foundation to develop a proposal based on the study; requiring the Foundation to submit a report to the General Assembly in accordance with specified provisions of law; and prohibiting the Foundation from using or spending specified assets before a specified date.
