Ambulatory Surgical Facilities - Definition

Synopsis:

Altering the definition of an "ambulatory surgical facility" to include any center, service, office facility, or other entity that operates primarily for the purpose of providing surgical services to patients requiring a period of postoperative observation not exceeding 23 hours, for licensing and oversight purposes; and requiring the Office of Health Care Quality in the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene to annually submit a report to specified committees regarding the number of facilities providing 23 hour recovery care in the State.
