The Honorable Thomas V. Mike Miller, Jr.
President of the Senate
State House
Annapolis MD 21401

Dear Mr. President:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed Senate Bill 329 - Child Support - Driver's License Suspension - Grounds for Requesting an Investigation and Appealing.

This bill establishes specified grounds on which a child support obligor may request an investigation and appeal the proposed action of the Child Support Enforcement Administration to send a notice to the Motor Vehicle Administration that the child support obligor is 60 days or more out of compliance with the most recent court order in making child support payments; prohibiting the Child Support Enforcement Administration from sending information about the obligor to the Motor Vehicle Administration if specified grounds exist.

House Bill 605, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me on May 26, 2004, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign Senate Bill 329.

Very truly yours,
Robert L. Ehrlich, Jr.
Governor
