§9–4102.

    (a)    There is a Department of Social and Economic Mobility, established as a principal department of the State government.

    (b)    (1)    The head of the Department is the Secretary of Social and Economic Mobility, who shall be appointed by the Governor with the advice and consent of the Senate.

        (2)    The Secretary serves at the pleasure of the Governor.

    (c)    The following units are in the Department:

        (1)    the Office of Minority Business Enterprises;

        (2)    the Office of Small, Minority, and Women Business Affairs; and

        (3)    the Office of Social Equity.

    (d)    The Department shall employ staff to carry out its duties as provided in the State budget.
