Analysis

Synopsis

Requiring a certain law enforcement agency to submit a sexual assault evidence collection kit to a forensic laboratory for analysis within 30 days of receipt, to notify the victim when the kit was sent and of the results of the analysis, to utilize community-based sexual assault victim service organizations, and to ensure privacy protections; requiring a certain forensic laboratory to take certain actions within a certain time; requiring the development of certain policies and procedures by January 1, 2019; applying the Act prospectively; etc.
