Penalties
Increasing the maximum penalty for involuntary manslaughter to a
$5,000 fine or 10 years' imprisonment and for voluntary manslaughter
to a $10,000 fine or 15 years' imprisonment; requiring, if there is
sufficient evidence, in a case tried before a jury, for a judge to
enter a verdict of guilty of involuntary manslaughter if the guilty
verdict does not specify involuntary manslaughter or voluntary
manslaughter and, in a nonjury case, for the judge to specify guilty
of involuntary manslaughter or voluntary manslaughter; etc.
