Child Protection Act of 1998

Synopsis:

Providing that the safety and health of children are paramount considerations in certain proceedings relating to adoption and guardianship; altering the time period within which a permanent placement for a child should be effectuated; and establishing a rebuttable presumption in termination of parental rights proceedings that the future safety of a child will be at risk if the natural parent has been convicted of a crime of violence against specified individuals.
