Family Law - Children in Out-of-Home Placements

Synopsis:

Authorizing a court to find a child who is 24 months old or younger to be abandoned if the natural parent has not contacted the child or the child placement agency for 6 months, despite the opportunity to do so; adding to the continuing or serious conditions or acts a court is required to consider in determining whether it is in the best interest of a child to terminate the natural parent's rights; providing that reasonable efforts need not be made to reunify a child with the natural parent or guardian under specified circumstances; etc.
