Income Tax Reduction
Reducing the top marginal tax rate under the Maryland State income tax
on individuals to 4.925% for tax year 1998, 4.85% for tax year 1999,
and 4.75% for tax years after 1999; increasing the amount allowed for
specified personal exemptions to $1,500 for tax year 1998, $1,850 for
tax year 1999, and $2,400 for tax years after 1999; and altering the
maximum amount of a subtraction allowed for two-income married couples
to $1,173 for tax year 1998, $1,144 for tax year 1999, and $1,105 for
tax years after 1999.
