Education - Suspension and Expulsion - Behavioral or Mental Health Assessment

Synopsis:

Requiring a county superintendent of schools to refer for an assessment by a clinical social worker, psychologist, nurse psychotherapist, or psychiatrist a child who has been suspended for over 10 days or expelled; establishing the information and recommendations to be included in an assessment; including a parent in the assessment process; and requiring a county board to develop an incentive program to encourage assessments.
