Dear Mr. Speaker:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed House Bill 371 - Vehicle Laws - Forest Products - Axle Load Limit Tolerance. This bill allows trucks that haul forest products and have been loaded in an off-highway location to have higher axle load limit tolerances, except on interstate highways, from June 1 to September 30 of each year.

Senate Bill 580, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign House Bill 371.
