Dear Mr. President:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed Senate Bill 213 - Higher Education - HOPE Scholarships - Eligibility.

This bill expands the eligibility for the Maryland HOPE Scholarship and the Community College Transfer Scholarship programs by increasing the eligible family income from $80,000 to $95,000.

House Bill 329, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign Senate Bill 213.
