Dear Mr. President:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed Senate Bill 342 - Queen Anne's County - Horsehead Education Center Loan of 1999.

This bill extends the deadline from June 1, 2001 to June 1, 2003 for the Board of Directors of the Wildfowl Trust of North America, Inc. to provide matching funds of up to $275,000 for the Queen Anne's County - Horsehead Education Center Loan of 1999.

House Bill 468, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign Senate Bill 342.
