Dear Mr. President:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed Senate Bill 371 - Baltimore City Parking Authority - Residential-Parking Permits.

This bill authorizes the Executive Director of the Baltimore City Parking Authority to issue a residential parking permit to a person who owns and occupies residential property in a residential parking permit area in Baltimore City.

House Bill 697, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me, accomplishes the same purpose and included an identical provision for the City of Annapolis. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign Senate Bill 371.
