Prescription Drug Spending Control Program - Medical Care Programs Administration

Synopsis:

Requiring the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene to establish a State prescription drug spending control program that may include preferred drug lists and processes for managing drug therapies; establishing a State Pharmaceutical and Therapeutics Committee within the Department for the purpose of developing recommendations for a preferred drug list; prohibiting the Department from establishing prior authorization requirements for specified medications; etc.
