Dear Mr. President:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed Senate Bill 51 - Motor Vehicle Administration - Chesapeake Bay Commemorative License Plate Program - Extension.

This bill extends the Chesapeake Bay Commemorative License Plate Program for five years, from July 1, 2002 to July 1, 2007.

House Bill 117, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign Senate Bill 51.
