Dear Mr. Speaker:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed House Bill 356 - Kent County - Kent Family Center Loan of 2000.

This bill extends the deadline, from June 1, 2002 to June 1, 2004, for the Board of Directors of Shared Opportunity Service, Incorporated, as grantee, to provide matching funds.

Senate Bill 301, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign House Bill 356.
