Dear Mr. President:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed Senate Bill 357 - Worcester County - Ocean City Visitors and Information Center Loan of 2000.

This bill extends the deadline, from June 1, 2002 to June 1, 2004, for the Board of Directors of The Ocean City, Maryland Chamber of Commerce, Inc., as grantee for the Worcester County - Ocean City Visitors and Information Center Loan of 2000, to present satisfactory evidence that a matching fund will be provided.

House Bill 166, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign Senate Bill 357.
