Dear Mr. Speaker:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, today I have vetoed House Bill 943 - Municipal Corporations - Proposed Annexation Resolutions - Notice and Hearing Requirements.

This bill alters the newspaper publication and public hearing requirements for a proposed annexation resolution for 25 acres of land or less by a municipal corporation.

Senate Bill 467, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign House Bill 943.
