Dear Mr. President:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, today I have vetoed Senate Bill 314 - Motor Vehicle Liability Insurance - Valuation of Motor Vehicles.

This bill requires the Maryland Insurance Commissioner to adopt regulations that establish standards and procedures for the settlement of claims involving the total loss of a specified motor vehicle and the determination of the motor vehicle's total loss value.

House Bill 641, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign Senate Bill 314.
