Dear Mr. President:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed Senate Bill 122 - Task Force to Study the Dynamics of Elderly and Retiree Migration into and out of Maryland.

This bill establishes a Task Force to Study the Dynamics of Elderly and Retiree Migration into and out of Maryland; requiring the Task Force to oversee and assist in preparing a specified study addressing tax policies and benefits of the State and other states as applied to the elderly and retirees.

House Bill 966, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me on May 26, 2004, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign Senate Bill 122.
