Dear Mr. Speaker:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, today I have vetoed House Bill 1450 - Agriculture - Maryland Wine and Grape Promotion Fund and Council - Establishment.

This bill establishes a Maryland Wine and Grape Promotion Fund and Maryland Wine and Grape Promotion Council. It establishes specified eligible activities that can be paid for by the Fund and gives the Board of Public Works the final approving authority on grants from the Fund. Senate Bill 566, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign House Bill 1450.
