Dear Mr. President:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, today I have vetoed Senate Bill 204 - Judgeships - Circuit Courts and District Court.

This bill increases the number of circuit court judgeships in Baltimore City and in Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Montgomery, Washington, and Worcester counties. It also increases the number of District Court judgeships in Baltimore City and in Worcester, Calvert, Prince George's, and Anne Arundel counties. House Bill 236, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign Senate Bill 204.
