Dear Mr. President:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, today I have vetoed Senate Bill 452 - Courts and Judicial Proceedings - Cecil County - Salary of the Sheriff.

This bill increases the annual salary of the Sheriff of Cecil County beginning with calendar year 2007 and provides that the Act does not apply to the salary or compensation of the incumbent Sheriff of Cecil County. House Bill 572, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign Senate Bill 452.
