Dear Mr. President:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, today I have vetoed Senate Bill 634 - Task Force to Study the Dynamics of Elderly and Retiree Migration Into and Out of Maryland.

This bill alters the date by which the Task Force to Study the Dynamics of Elderly and Retiree Migration Into and Out of Maryland is required to report its findings and recommendations to the Governor and the General Assembly from December 31, 2004 to May 31, 2006. In addition, the bill extends the termination date of the Task Force from December 31, 2004 to May 31, 2006. House Bill 286, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign Senate Bill 634.
