Dear Mr. President:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, today I have vetoed Senate Bill 702 - Developmental Disabilities Administration - Prioritization System for Investigations.

This bill requires the Developmental Disabilities Administration, in conjunction with the Office of Health Care Quality, to adopt regulations establishes a prioritization system for responding to and investigating specified incidents; and requires the Administration to seek input from specified individuals in developing the regulations. House Bill 651, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign Senate Bill 702.
