§9–2433.

    (a)    A person who receives sign language interpretation services or is a witness to sign language interpretation services from an unlicensed individual in violation of this part may bring an action in a court of competent jurisdiction seeking an injunction to prohibit the individual from providing sign language interpretation services.

    (b)    (1)    In a judicial proceeding under subsection (a) of this section, it is not necessary to show that the person was individually injured by the violation.

        (2)    If the court finds that an individual has violated this subtitle, the court shall:

            (i)    enjoin the individual from providing sign language interpretation services until the violation is corrected; and

            (ii)    report the finding to the Board.

        (3)    An individual who is found by the court to have violated this part is jointly and severally liable to the individual who brought the action for an amount not exceeding $1,000 per incident and all attorney’s fees and court costs.
