Court Costs - Victims of Crime
For Fiscal Year 1997, requiring a court to impose an additional court
cost of $5 on a criminal defendant who is found guilty, enters a plea
of nolo contendere, or is given probation before judgment; requiring
that the fees collected be deposited to the Maryland Victims of Crime
Fund; authorizing the Governor to transfer any moneys credited to the
Fund from the fee to the Victim and Witness Protection and Relocation
Fund by budget amendment; and for Fiscal Year 1997, prohibiting a
court from waiving any court cost except under certain circumstances.
