the Bleakest Year of the Great Famine in Ireland
Acknowledging the tragedy of the Great Famine in Ireland and the
suffering of the Irish People, particularly during 1847; honoring the
memory of over one million people that died between 1845 and 1850; and
urging that the study of the Great Famine, its causes and effects, be
made a part of the primary and secondary education courses taught in
the State.
