Dear Mr. Speaker:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed House Bill 359.

This bill alters the requirements for a certain disclosure statement furnished by a continuing care provider. It also requires a provider to annually furnish the revised disclosure statement to each subscriber and ensures that each subscriber initials the revised disclosure statement.

Senate Bill 145, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me on May 27, 1999, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign House Bill 359.
