Dear Mr. Speaker:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed House Bill 694 - Advisory Council on Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.

This bill establishes a 25-member Advisory Council on Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. The advisory council must submit an annual report of its findings and recommendations to the Governor and the General Assembly by July 1, 2001, July 1, 2002, and June 30, 2003. The bill sunsets June 30, 2003.

Senate Bill 742, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me on April 25, 2000, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign House Bill 694.
