Dear Mr. President:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed Senate Bill 342 - Anne Arundel County - Noise Control - Sports Shooting Clubs.

This bill prohibits Anne Arundel County from adopting sound level limits that would disallow trapshooting, skeetshooting or other target shooting between 9 a.m. and 10 p.m. at shooting sports clubs that were chartered and in operation before July 1, 1983.

House Bill 882, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me on May 11, 2000, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign Senate Bill 342.
