Dear Mr. Speaker:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed House Bill 367 - State Board of Examiners in Optometry - Sunset Extension and Program Evaluation.

This bill extends the sunset date for the State Board of Examiners in Optometry from July 1, 2002 to July 1, 2013 and requires a sunset evaluation report of the board by July 1, 2012.

Senate Bill 116, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign House Bill 367.
