Dear Mr. President:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed Senate Bill 294 - On-Site Generated Electricity - Approval Process.

This bill establishes a new approval process for the construction of a generating station that produces on-site generated electricity and will generate less than 70 megawatts.

House Bill 356, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign Senate Bill 294.
