Dear Mr. President:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed Senate Bill 471 - Department of Natural Resources - Vessel Operation - Regulations.

This bill requires the Department of Natural Resources to adopt regulations prohibiting the use of personal water craft above idle in certain waters of the State.

House Bill 73, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign Senate Bill 471.
