Dear Mr. President:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed Senate Bill 505 - Task Force on Enhanced Wireless 911 Service.

This bill establishes an 8-member Task Force on Enhanced Wireless 911 Service. The task force must examine existing State law concerning enhanced wireless 911 service, receive testimony as the task force considers appropriate and propose any appropriate statutory changes to State law concerning enhanced wireless 911 service.

House Bill 1078, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign Senate Bill 505.
