Dear Mr. President:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed Senate Bill 798 - Elevator Safety - Licensing of Elevator Contractors and Mechanics.

This bill establishes a nine-member Elevator Safety Review Board within the Department of Labor, Licensing, and Regulation to license "elevator contractors" and "elevator mechanics." House Bill 1094, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign Senate Bill 798.
