Dear Mr. President:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed Senate Bill 810 - Child Abuse - Reports - Public School Contractors and Employees of Contractors.

This bill authorizes the disclosure of reports or records concerning child abuse or neglect to public school superintendents for personnel or administrative actions following a report of suspected child abuse committed by an independent contractor or an employee of an independent contractor who supervises or works directly with students.

House Bill 1240, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign Senate Bill 810 Sincerely,
