Dear Mr. President:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed Senate Bill 14 - Circuit Court Clerks - Salary.

This bill repeals minimum salary requirements for circuit court clerks and increases the maximum salary for circuit court clerks from $75,000 to $85,000, effective at the beginning of the next term of office.

House Bill 39, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign Senate Bill 14.
