Dear Mr. Speaker:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed House Bill 349 - Baltimore City - Local Social Services Board - Membership.

This bill authorizes the expansion of the Baltimore City local department of social services board from nine members to no more than 13 members.

Senate Bill 161, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign House Bill 349.
