Dear Mr. President:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed Senate Bill 417 - State Commission of Real Estate Appraisers and Home Inspectors - Sunset Extension and Program Evaluation.

This bill extends the termination date for the State Commission of Real Estate Appraisers and Home Inspectors from July 1, 2003 to July 1, 2013, requires another sunset evaluation of the Commission by July 1, 2012, establishes certain fees and makes several changes to the membership of the Commission.

House Bill 485, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign Senate Bill 417.
