Dear Mr. President:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed Senate Bill 466 - Reimbursement of Health Care Providers.

This bill extends the termination date from June 30, 2002 to June 30, 2005 of Chapter 275 of 2000 and Chapter 423 of 2001, which specify certain HMO reimbursement rates for noncontracting providers who provide services to HMO enrollees.

House Bill 805, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign Senate Bill 466.
